Hope Building in Lusoke Village
The women of Lusoke Village in the Chongwe District of Zambia have a vision for their families economic wellbeing. However, they face a major obstacle: extreme poverty. The Center for Global Initiatives has designed a micro-loan project to help 20 to 30 women lift their families out of extreme poverty.
The Club’s mission is to promote hope, entrepreneurism & self-sufficiency.
Lusoke Daniel’s Women Economic Empowerment Club
The Women’s Economic Empowement Club comprises of 15 women, ages 20 and above, who have children and the desire to start her own small business. The Club provides seed capital for business micro-loans, financial training, and a savings plan for school fees.

Financial Literacy & Business Planning Workshop
In August 2018, the Club had their first Empowerment Workshop! We want the members of the Club to succeed in their business and other entrepreneurial ventures.

We partnered with the Ministry of Agriculture to train the club on business, planning, marketing, and entrepreneurialism. The women will receive more training starting September!
Executive Club Meetings
The Club has had several meetings since it’s launch in June 2017. During their first all-day meeting, they appointed their leadership team and went over the terms of the micro-loans. It was a terrific day!
In August 2018, we had a terrific planning meeting with the Club. As expected, the Club offered unique solutions to create a solid loan project!
We approved 15 loan applications. We will be monitoring this project over the next 6 months.
